1920's Embroidered Vintage Smocked Dress
This is a pretty vintage salmon pink dress with smocking and floral embroidery on netting from the late 1920's or early 1930's. This beautiful cotton voile sheer dress was acquired from an incredible estate of 1920's and 1930's clothing. The woman who originally owned it, as well as several others like it in different colors, lived in Shanghai in the 1920s and early 1930's and brought back some fashion treasures when she returned to the United States.We were so fortunate to be able to handle her estate and this dress is a great example of what she would have worn during the day back in the 30's. The things to mention include a few broken threads in the criss cross top stitching on the back that I have tried to show in photos and the upper portion of the back of the dress shows some fading. Side snaps and lovely embroidery!
