Twisted Japanese Cedar Rasen
A rare and very unusual form of the Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica Rasen is a fast-growing, fastigiate, medium-sized, evergreen cryptomeria, whose twisted branches form an almost conical tree. The needle-like foliage is rich green, and twists tightly round the twisted upright branches and branchlets in a most unusual, decorative way. Small brown cones appear in autumn. Twisted Japanese cedar Rasen-Sugi makes a good specimen where a striking curiosity is appropriate.
